A gorgeous pair of frames you'll love filling with wedding photos, perhaps, or your family portraits, or selected intaglio prints, or even needleworks. These frames are in fine condition for age and each still has its original glass. Heavy solid and beautifully grained oak, elaborately elevated by thick impasto appliqué of plaster/gesso, gilded. You won't really need to mat your image to frame, as the ornament frames and mats whatever appears in that aperture. Aren't they beautiful! Just in from Paris. I have a lot of stunning old frames to work up at the warehouse and to get listed. If these aren't perfect for you, bookmark and come back to our shop. In this offering you are buying a matching pair.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. The wood is gorgeous! There are no bothersome losses to the heavy ornament appliqués. Perhaps a tiny edge nip showing white, if it bothers, let us know and we'll touch with French gold restoration enamels before shipment. But as the pair display, perfect authenticity of age. Napoleon III era, c.1850-70. Full measurements noted on the photos.
