The artist has left us only a tiny initial signature, and 2 exquisite portrait miniatures of incalculable beauty. The pair came to me together, and are an obvious pair, will stay together. They have a look of being German or Eastern European, and if pressed, I'd say they're a brother and sister. I am uncertain of the date, and will simply leave them as "19th century". The girl, particularly, is just a spectacular portrait. You'll note that in the distance a church tower rises. Something in that might suggest the pair are marriage portraits of a young couple. In any case, both excellent and both superb little paintings.
Very good to excellent condition, both. I have taken all photos through the convex cover glass, so you'll see a little glare from the lights, and the slight distortion of the curved glass - in person, these two are truly magnificent. I find no flaws. They have the 19th century woven fabric backings.
