He's good sized, 8" as a seated bear, for scale you would be looking at a 9" bear if he were posed standing. Vintage, I think, rather than antique, he has glass eyes and a painted mouth and is really quite charming. In photos you can see him as a cigar caddy or a tobacco caddy holding a pipe, though you'll be receiving the bear alone (the others are props to help you with scale). You could just as well fill him with candies at table, or anything else. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition, as you can see, no restorations and presents very well. I was concerned buying this one (in a grouping of Black Forest carved goods) that it might be one of the recent reproduction ones, but I'm willing to concede he's nicely carved and cute as can be. No chips, one wood shrinkage or natural hairline can be seen inside the compartment and we've shown it. Hinge is nicely mounted and holding well and it's a very nice fit when closed. Again, vintage to possibly antique.
