Large 23" x 19" down-filled throw or sofa pillow with antique Victorian era needlepoint panel from an old bell pull worked into it. Velvet ini a taupe color and color-matched lush fringe, French Passementerie. Zippered back, piping flanking the needlepoint, new/vintage materials other than the old needlepoint. I originally purchased it in London, '80s or '90s.
Very good to excellent condition throughout, the cotton velvet is showing some wrinkles because it's been stored long in a bag. It will smooth out in no time. The needlepoint embroidery fragment used is from a Victorian era bell pull, and is a gorgeous bouquet with pleasing palette. Little if any loss to the stitches, worked a tiny stitch at a time. This is painstaking embroidery in wool and silk yarns. Zippered back opens to down pillow inside. Thick and puffy! Panel is c.1850s, pillow made up in 1980s, estimate. No odors, pet and smoke-free home.
