Gorgeous antique English hallmarked sterling silver & thick beveled glass 12.5" tall boudoir or vanity mirror with ornate rococo styling, 1899 date mark and original easel stand! Aged but beautiful! I can't quite make out the silversmith mark but the others are for Birmingham and the date mark appears to be for 1899. The facade of the frame in an ornate reticulated sterling silver, Louis XIV or Rococo in style and stunning. Mounted on what originally would have been velvet covered wood, the nap on the velvet is all worn off but it retains the original back with easel stand. A fabluous decorative piece. One could also strip the silvering from the mirror if so desired and make a magnificent picture frame. Enjoy!
Very good condition, age considered. As mentioned above, the velvet's nap has worn away over the years. The sterling frame/facade is in great shape with just a few wear holes in raised areas and a bit of visible tarnish. See pictures for all measurements.
