Lovely antique French Louis XVIII to Louis Philippe era 9pc sterling silver dinner sized flatware set, a 3pc setting for three with fiddle thread style pattern and "A. Alexandre Pietre" engraved fork & spoon handles! I've been working on a few smaller one and two person place settings over the past months, pieces that we've collected over the years and thought we might as well offer them here. This set originally came to us from France as the six pieces, the knives also came to us from France but from another set but the handle shapes close enough to work wonderfully together. Forks and spoons bear the French Michel-Ange or Michelangelo hallmark that dates between 1819-1838, the tiny number "1" within means they're in .950 silver (95% pure and above the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks on them are for J. Bourdon, Paris circa first quarter 1800s. Hallmarks on the knives appear to be Dutch but I'm not certain. An elegant setting for three.
Very good condition. As you can see, some knife marks on the fork tines. The knife blades are pre-stainless steel so they do have some age/tarnish darkening. See pictures for measurements.
