The French control mark, eagle's head in profile appears (very tiny) on inside of one finger hole, as usual, the guarantee of 18k gold. The weight of the scissors is 8.04 grams, but takes slender sharp steel scissors into that total weight. I'm unable to weigh only the 18k gold. Scissors are sharp, ready to be used, or to replace scissors missing in one of your antique sewing etui or nécessaire, boxes. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, they're c. 1850-70, engraved hollow form shoulders to the handles. Strong and firm, I have searched for imperfection and feel like I'm able to see old evidence of a professionally worked repair or reinforcement at the spot I've marked with an "x" for you to review. It's possible it is just a feature of the original goldsmith work, or slight stain. Steel blades are sharp and not much darkened by time, no corrosion.
