Lovely antique French Louis Philippe era 18k gold on solid .800 (nearly sterling) silver 12pc dessert, “confiture" or teaspoon set with shield & foliate decoration on one side, urn with flowers & foliage on the other and all in wonderful condition with 1819-1838 French hallmarks! Crafted in the older style with relatively pointed bowls, they’re not as heavy as the normal table setting pieces would be but the slightly lower silver content affords them added durability as you can see by their fabulous condition. No monograms in the shield shaped cartouches at the ends of the tops of the handles so, you could add your own if you desired. Older French hallmarks, they bear the Socrates and Hercule profile markings that date them between 1819-1838 and also designate them as being in at least .800 or 80% pure silver. There are legible silversmith marks, a solitary R with star but I've not been able to find a reference for them as of yet. A lovely set, an elegant addition to coffee or tea time, great for soft desserts even. You'll want to enjoy them every chance you get.

Very good condition. No bends, damage or repairs to note and I see no real loss or wear to the vermeil. Amazing considering their age! They are in an old box but I can’t be certain it’s original. There is a gold embossed label on the inside that reads J.B. Doyen, Belfort (notable Bijoutier - Hologer, Place d'Armes, Belfort, France). See pictures for weights and measurements.
