A darling piece of doll furniture, or perhaps a little girl's first sewing tool for needlework or embroidery, or quilting, this is a miniature in the style made for tabletop or laptop use, a stretcher to hold the fabric or canvas tight so needlework can be worked beautifully. Entirely made of wood, this one has only 2 small metal bolts with butterfly wing nuts to tighten the angle of the frame. It comes apart into small space for storage or for shipment, and assembles quickly when one wishes to put it to use. A lightly varnished finish to the natural wood, it's pretty when out and in use, as well - like Country French furniture. Complete, no flaws to note. This is the smallest one we've ever found, making me think of it for a doll's house, though was likely a young girl's starter frame. Full measurements noted on the photos. Just the frame being sold, not the other furnishings in photos.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, it is the type used from 1700s on, and I would date this one mid- late 1800s. Some age to the wood, but no breaks, no repairs. There is an added extension of slightly mismatched wood, to raise it higher, but that can be left out when assembling. Beautiful natural finish to all the wood.
