Fabulous antique Continental hallmarked .800 (nearly sterling) silver 8.5" mesh purse, hand bag or evening bag with blue paste 'jeweled' clasp, delicate fringe base and all in wonderful condition! Art Deco perhaps? As elegant as can be and the detail of the solid silver wire mesh is amazing! I've included several enlarged photos of this one, so peruse and enjoy. Hallmarked solely "800", the standard silver content for Continental Europe though I can't narrow down the date or maker with the absence of a silversmith mark. A stunning piece, heavy at 130 grams or 4.2 troy ounces! Very good to excellent condition! Dates likely to the 1920s or so though you'd never guess it from the condition...must have been treasured or locked in a safe for the majority of its life. I see no missing or damaged links in the chain, clasp closes securely and it's just been polished to a high shine. See pictures for all measurements.
