The carving on this one is marvelous and undamaged. Intricately carved and beautifully preserved (note: needlepoint has a few flaws to mend). Thick wood and very sturdy, the legs once had wheels (1 left on to show you) but I think it's best if the small hardware is removed. Can't think of a need for a footstool to have wheels, but it was in fashion in c.1840-60 when this was created. I have not polished nor treated the wood so you could see any imperfections, but we will do so to cover them up nicely before sending out to you. Large, 19" x 15.75" and 11.5" tall.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, the primary flaws would be the missing 3 original wheels, a few rubs to wood which can be stained, lightly waxed and easily restored, and last, the Griffen or lion needlepoint panel has a few moth nibbles and one can either love it as it is (I do), or match wool yarn and do a tiny bit of needlepoint restoration/restitching. The canvas is strong and uncut. Very easy to do this one.
