Another gorgeous mid-1800s early Victorian era French pottery plate service for dessert or 1st course: 10 plates 8 1/4" diameter along with a service platter or cake plate 11 1/4" in diameter for an 11 piece set. Stunningly beautiful floral pattern is noted on backside as "Flora", but is different from another later issue of "flora" by the same pottery firm. Lebeuf Millet & Company, from the Creil & Montereau villages whose trades were in 'Terre de fer' (ironstone) tableware. This one a particularly appealing pattern. Measurements noted on the photos, as are maker's marks.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, and a very large set with 10 of the smaller plates along with an oversized cake or petit-fours service platter. I've examined them carefully and find no cracks, but did find 3 very small imperfections which might be called a chip but are more likely rubs caused by metal plate hanger. I have grouped those 3 in a single photo to show the small chips for your review, and noted them. Otherwise, and even with that, the 180 year old set displays beautifully and will be very welcome on your table in use. It's a transferware, but a bit to flow blue such as it is in the old French pieces. Gorgeous!
