Wonderful & rare set of ten antique English George Jones & Sons fish plates with matching 24.5" tray or platter, all hand painted with unique fish & aquatic scenes, all signed "W. Birbeck" and all with those gorgeous cobalt blue & gold enamel borders! Aren't these beautiful! The set actually consists of twelve plates and the platter but two of the plates have moderately bad repaired breaks/cracks on the edge so I'm pricing and selling as an 11pc set but the two damaged pieces will be included with the shipment. The marks are those of George Jones & Sons and date to the late 1800s, here's a bit of information found online: George Jones (& Sons) Manufacturers of decorative earthenware and majolica-style wares c.1861-1951 From 1872 porcelain was also produced. "& Sons" added 1873 "England" added from 1891 "Crescent China" appears on some marks from 1893 c.1891-1920 In about 1907 the Trent Pottery was renamed the Crescent Pottery After 1924 most of the ware bore the name "CRESCENT" - some ware had the name CRESCENT as early as 1893. A fabulous set here, whether you decide to use them with your fine dining ensemble, display them as the exceptional pieces they are...or both! Enjoy!

Very good to excellent condition. The ten plates and tray are all in great shape, some glaze crazing to the platter but no chips, cracks or repairs. As noted, the 'extra' two plates have glued breaks at the edge. Presentable for display and they'll be included but have not been included as far as the listing and price are concerned. See pictures for all measurements.
