Glorious old MOSER glass - the finest old Bohemian glass, we think, and in this case a special one with hand painted cartouche depicting a fox in the wilderness, bringing a hen to her kits. Beautifully painted, I've tried to capture the brush strokes for you by scanning the surface - hard to photograph this beautiful piece well, with the curve of the goblet. Beautifully preserved through time, the painting has lost none of it's beauty, though there is a very small scratch in the paint at the very top - 12 o'clock position that extends about 1/8" into the oval painting. Forest on this one is beautifully detailed, as are the mother fox and her kits. Really a superb subject, and superbly done. Should be a framed painting - but that's what we're used to in the finest old Bohemian glass, isn't it, and why we love it so.
Very good to excellent, with no chips or cracks anywhere. Slight loss to the gilting at rim, and the tiny scratch I mentioned above. A glorious piece, sure to be a centerpiece in your fine collection.
