A superb pair of 18th century spectacles, pince nez in marked 14k yellow gold, (585) with the lenses are intact and so is one side of the original leather nose guard as you can see (rather easy to split a leather lacing and attach for the other or replace both). All you need is a nice gold chain on which to wear these around your neck for reading. We show one of my modern 18k gold chains with this pair in one photo but that does not come with it. Or set them atop some old leather bound books for just the most fun accessory to your reading room or bedside table. A gorgeous pair! The case is an old French one, card that looks a bit more like leather and is gold-embossed with floral or star motif as you see. It's in very nice condition, too. With this "585" mark, we think they are either American or Continental, but definitely not French. The French standard is 18k and we do have a couple other sets of these that are French 18k, so look for those if interested, sold separately.

Very good to excellent, you see the punch mark "585" that guarantees they are solid 14k gold. . I'm not sure of magnification, sorry. They're blurry for me, and I use about a 1.5-2 magnification, so neither of those. The weight of the pair is 10.1 grams but that includes the glass lenses in place. The case for this pair is made of card, not leather, and it is in quite remarkably good condition, too. We have several sets in inventory, from 14k to an 18k French set in beadwork case, all sold separately. Look for those, too. Measurements noted on the photos. So fun!
