From my own life-long private collection, another exceptionally beautiful and good-sized Aubusson tapestry border fragment awaits your creativity (and some restoration with needle and heavy thread) to turn it into a luxuriously elegant decorator pillow top, flanked in silk velvet, perhaps, and lushly fringed, down-filled. Or, you might well wish to back it with a linen to stabilize it and then frame it to display as wall art. These very old ones with figural features are most sought after. This one is a personal favorite. The colors - just delicious, though you can see from the backside photos, the old yarns have faded some from their original colors, dyes. Good to very good condition for age and type. This one has not yet had the 'here and there' restorations done. I always thought I'd do it, but every day has 3 days of 'get it done' and I've let my tapestry panels languish in archival tissue, rolled. I've shown back and front so you can see where there are areas you'll need to either work around, or do a little hand sewing. I know many designers are simply using an iron-on bonding fabric, which is certainly a possibility, though not preferable for these ancient panels IMO. I should also mention, it's clean and there are no offensive odors of age. I only buy the ones I want in my own home!
