I've kept this one for 15 years, sure I'd find the time and impetus to make it up into several down-filled throw pillows for my other home - perfect for there with Black Forest carvings and it's mountain setting. Alas, I still have not done it. This 8 foot 4 inch needlepoint panel is magnificent. Never made up into anything, the wool and silk yarns remain supple and undamaged and brilliant in color. Found in France, it must have been made to be used as a wall hanging, as the animals are in vertical orientation. Repeating stag, fox, and florals, it is left in its entire length in case someone wishes to use it as a center to a chair upholstery, or a wall hanging. But you might wish to cut the sections and make the fabulous lush-trim down filled pillows I had in mine. Up to you.
Excellent condition throughout. The panel has never been put to use, dates Napoleon III era, has been rolled and stored and is pristine. Get creative! Designer pillows for a Country French, cabin, or English manor - any decor. No fading to colors and no missing stitches. The canvas is excellent. There is selvedge to work with beyond the 10" width. Fabulous Aesop's subjects, a very French border around each section. My loss, your gain.
