The cabinet card photo was the 2nd reprint able paper photo invented, a larger image than the previous carte de visite, and frame made for those photos date, as with the photos, c.1870-1900 for the most part. This would be one for those early photos, most of which were in a vertical format. The frame's measurements are noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, still with original easel back, fabric-covered backing and cover glass. Actually, this frame is a bit unique, has 2 beveled glass panels inside. The metal tabs are in doubles, the glass held in place with one set and the other set for the fabric cover panel. Rather unusual for these old frames, and indicating a higher quality.
