The photo size for the 8 apertures is the carte de visite, first paper photography, which date c.1860s. This fine antique frame survives in really excellent condition for age, you see the branches and leaves, the edelweiss adorned front panels, which display beautifully closed as well as open. Found in France, it's 13.5" tall, larger than most of these we've found in the past. Full measurements on photos.
Very good to excellent condition and all 8 apertures have their cover glass in place. Looks like small screws remove the center backing to insert your photos and the side panels slide in place - easy to display your own collection of carte de visite photos, or sized photos of your own family. Great for cabin, lodge, Country French or English cottage decor. Strong desktop easel back, or it can also be hung on wall if you simply loop a wire around the hinge. So pretty!
