This 19th century oil painting comes from the private collection of this painting comes from the private collection of Château Mons Dremil Lafarge near Toulouse in Haute Garonne near Toulouse in Haute Garonne, France. I have not determined the ancestral crest, but it designates a titled heritage applicable to this woman. If you happen to know the family identity of the crown crest (frogs, chevron, tree), please email and we'll add the verifiable info. The portrait is beautifully done and has a hint of the Impressionist movement, as well as is placed somewhere near the date of that movement. An intimate-sized painting, not quite portrait miniature, but 16" x 12 3/4" and in excellent condition - well treasured. Definitely an appealing portrait which will encourage more research. We do not have an artist signature. Full measurements are noted on the photos.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, coming up on 200 years (surprising how fast decades roll by). Her hair and style put her into the c.1840-50 timeframe in France. Found in France, and from a notable French estate. I find no damage nor flaws to report. She remains perfectly stretched on the board stretcher frame. Ready to hang or to be framed.
