Just fun! Found in France, it's a 19th century sculpture of a playful otter and a heavy barrel-form container that begs to be a cigar caddy, or a desk caddy. Solid cast, I do not see a signature, but it's a nice anatomical Animalier sculpture. Photos show it from all sides and views. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, a silver metal bottom to the heavy cast tapered barrel. I did not polish the barrel, but it will polish to a bright high gold finish should you want it. I like the patina as it is. I can find a single and very unobtrusive flaw, which is a slight push dent, not a dent-dent, really, but uneven surface in a small area of the side facing you when the otter is at left on photo. More a slight disruption of the straight lines on the barrel - do you see it? To be noted, but barely noticeable. No other imperfections of note.
