RARE little gem, this! Earliest 1800s Palais Royal pendant of beautifully carved mother of pearl and ormolu, French paste gems surrounding it, and it is a 1-draw monocular or magnifying glass, opera glass. Shown on a jeweled hand mirror which is not included. Measurements noted on our photos.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, you will note an imperfection to a lobe on the mother of pearl fluted panels on front and back. For a fragile 200+ year old item, this one shows little loss, however. It is a single-draw monocular, though I'm unable to push the lens in. Each side has magnifying lens, and it seems to me the smaller one might be a replacement and slightly off-size, preventing the retraction. These were worn on a long chain, tucked into the bodice. If we find these at all, rarely in as nice condition as this one.
