Children's portraits are rather rare and this one is quite special. Someone's late 1700s to early 1800s pleasure at having a son, no doubt. Perfectly protected as the treasure it was and is, in the original and wonderful extended bow top frame. I've photographed the painting outside of frame for your full review of the state of it, which is superb. No warp, no hairlines, and the young boy sits with a bouquet of flowers in an outdoor forest scene that is delicate and beautiful. All we're missing is his story, the artist's name, and the identity of that darling blond and blue-eyed boy. It's a quite unusual portrait, as you can see.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. I see no flaws to note either on the painting, its original slightly convex cover glass nor the stunning fine extend bow top frame. Measurements are noted on the photos.
