Fabulous antique Napoleon III or Victorian era hand carved 40" furniture or architectural cornice PAIR, an elegant seashell accented tableau on each with rosettes at the sides and both in wonderful condition! Taken from the top of larger carved pieces of furniture, these old 'salvaged' pieces were generally the more ornate parts of the pieces and make wonderful decorative accents as they are. Or, turn them into part of your custom cabinetry, fireplace mantel, bar or wouldn't they look great mounted over entry doorways. Carved from what looks like solid old growth European walnut and the size is nearly as impressive as the carving. Fabulous visual appeal no matter how you end up using or displaying them!
Very good to excellent condition. No warping or breaks to be found and they both have a wonderful warm aged finish or patina. Possibly a small dent or nip in a place or two but, as you can see, both are in fabulous shape and ready for use. See pictures for all other measurements.
