Fabulous one of a kind antique English sterling silver & wheel cut glass or crystal 4.5" tall 'paperweight' style inkwell, a trophy or award with "Boddington Harriers, Puppy Show 1911, Second Prize, Pamela" engraved lid and wonderful condition! Yes, I've been on a bit of an inkwell binge but who can really pass up these superb old brilliant cut crystal era inkwells, and especially when they have a historically noted inscription for something as unique as a puppy show! This one huge and heavy, standing 4.5" tall and the crystal body with a 4" diameter (heavy, the piece weighs 2 lbs, 9 oz.). I haven't done any research on the dedication but the fact that it was an award for a puppy show is simply charming! One for the inkwell or dog/canine related enthusiast. A wonderful desk or writing table top decorative accent and guaranteed to be a conversation starter. I'll look into the inscription and add here if I can find more about the history.
Very good condition. A small nip to the base edge or two but, as you can see, no larger chips, no cracks or damage to note. Possibly a small dimple or two to the lid but no dents or other damage. See pictures for measurements.
