Time to sell a lot of our 'this and that' spare items - I'll be listing loads of them in weeks ahead. The things we set aside in deference to more fabulous or valuable antiques just owing to time constraints. Amazing how that relegated 'this and that' has multiplied over time!  This one is a 4 1/2" tall Georgian Era or later 18th century scent or perfume etui in fine old shagreen (belly leather from stingray), and the outer case displays well, particularly from one side. Within, 2 original scent or perfume bottles, flasks, flacons remain, though the caps do not match. No funnel, 1 stopper, and an unusual pair of square-form flasks.

Good condition with age and type considered. First off, the shagreen etui is really in quite good condition for these very old ones, though it is not excellent, it is toward top in condition for most of these. Shown from all angles, you see there is some darkening to the green leather, and the previous owner touched up some losses so they distract less. As noted, bottles are square with canted corners, which is rather unique for these. One neck suffers a chip and the caps mismatch but each screws onto the threads - one is 18k gold (likely original) and one is silver. One stopper remains. This is a project one, or one to part out. Closing all of my "walking around" projects out! These are things you carry along while shopping little Paris markets, fun to find matches of bottles, caps and complete them.
