Everyone loves the Black Forest bears! This is an unusual carved Black Forest bear as most go, in that it is an epergne holder (glass vase), which often survive alone and without their old glass vase but are perfect as candle holders, or, when they're large and sturdy at base, are fabulous and quite simple to turn into a charming little accent lamp. This one would be perfect as a lamp! All you need is a "lamp kit" from lighting department of a hardware store, a harp the height you want your lamp shade to be, and the lamp shade. A drill and someone handy and with 1/2 hour of time.  Full measurements are noted on the photos.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, the bear is good sized - if standing, it would be about a 7" tall bear. The trunk of the tree raises the height to 9.5" tall, perfect to repurpose as a lamp. I'm adding one photo at the end of our pics to show you similar height epergne/candle stand carvings made up as lamps in my other home, so you can see what I'm envisioning. As to the bear, he has one small flaw that isn't noticeable in normal display - far side of the ear to the right of frame as you look at it. I've marked it for your review. Looking to top of the tree trunk, there is a small open spot. I can't tell if that's a flaw or how it was made.  Bear has black glass bead eyes.
