A stunning little museum piece, later 1700s hand carved Dieppe ivory patch or snuff box. Not completely perfect, but displays beautifully. It's a bit of folly to show these small items in such greatly enlarged photos since it coarsens the carvings which are, in fact, very delicate. These floral and fruit themed bits are personal favorites of mine and from my own life-long collections, being disbursed now. It's petit, likely was a patch box rather than a snuff box, though for a lady, a small 'pinch' may well have been of use. Full measurements and all views for full review.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. There is one rim chip that is visible when closed from one angle (see images). Some other age lines which don't really show in display. Found in France decades ago.
