Another from my lifelong 'stash' of tapestry collected with the plan to make them up as those fabulous lushly fringed and down-filled decorator sofa or throw pillows everyone loves, but not ever put to use. I've collected only the finest panels, fragments as I was out buying antiques for the business, so these I'm adding to inventory are the best of the best. This one is 14" in diameter, never used, might have been ready for a Victorian round foot stool and was just never completed. It lies flat, so perhaps made for a tea tray. Gold silk background with thousands of colored glass beads in a very French patterning of florals, it remains in exceptional condition, as you can see. Backed in linen, one need only mount it now to the top of a larger velvet of heavy silk panel of fabric, add elegant complimenting passementerie trim or tassels, and a down pillow insert - a lifetime treasure! For this one, trimmed as it is, you could buy a large velvet pillow and simply appliqué this to the front panel, really. Super easy!

Very good to excellent condition throughout on this one. 170 or so years old but never used, it was found in France, is a French panel in Napoleon III aesthetic, but may have been worked for an English tea tray. I see no missing beadwork, and the gold silk yarn stitches are in very nice condition. Sturdy and ready to be made up.
