A pair of superb late Victorian era knife rests, marks show they were made in London in 1874. I've had these and some other pairs for decades, used them at my own table and loved them. I am uncertain if the branches are carved ivory or tooth, however. I would rather imagine ivory. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent for age and type. As you can see, the sterling silver is in very nice undamaged condition and there are fine natural shrinkage hairlines on the ivory pieces, which we find typical in these. I think the bases on this pair are weighted. All British hallmarks in place, as shown. I did not look up the silversmith, but just verified the age of them. In this offering, 1 pair of 2 pieces.
