Gorgeous antique French 18k gold & sterling silver topped vanity or dressing jar with wheel cut & intaglio etched or engraved decoration! Not sure if the silver top is original, giving it a two toned look, or if that portion of the silver was polished down but the look is definitely wonderful. Very elegant, the vermeil sides featuring a classical laurel band and the jar itself beautiful & shimmering with the wheel cut sunburst pattern in the base and grooves along the sides and that engraved foliate band.
Very good condition. No chips, cracks, etc. to the jar and no notable damage to the top other than one tiny dimple. As noted above, the top may be original but more likely has been polished down to the silver. See pictures for measurements.
