Such pretty condition, a beautifully patterned and crafted sewing set with boar's head profile mark (very tiny) which confirms it is .800/1000 pure silver, made in France. Not quite sterling, which in France is .950/1000 pure silver, but this is typical of sewing implements and other small items that will be in use. It's a stronger alloy of silver and resists dents, damage in continued use. This set seems to have not been used. Of course that's the exact kind we love to find for you. Beautiful wood, carved and lined in silk velvet, I love the way these fit the hand. I love the heavy smooth feel of them. They make me want to take up embroidery. ; )

Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Scissors have steel blades that remain very sharp. Stiletto has steel tip. The balance of all you see is that brightly "diamond-like" worked silver and there's not a dent or bend, no breaks. Clasp and hinge are in perfect working order. This is from c.1850-70, and it remains a true beauty you will want to use. Originally, these sets would include a bodkin, (ribbon-threading large needle), and most of the time those have gone missing. Such is the case with this one, too. Measurements are on photos.
