Digging through stashes of fill-in items, and the wonderful little scent bottles we collected to replace any lost in large gorgeous old trousse de voyage or sewing boxes, earliest 1800s or slightly before, and we're vowing to clear them out. I'm positive I've paid more on these little bottles than we're offering them for, but you're the collector who will love them, aren't you. These are 2 c.1780-1820 French perfumes vials, very lovely in their 18k gold caps. They would have been inside fittings within a Palais Royal sewing box, for certain, or vanity case. Acid tested gold caps, just one flask has its old stopper as you can see, and the other has its original stopper broken off and sticking in the neck (can be soaked in oil and removed but we'll leave that decision to its next owner).
Very nicely preserved, they are in very good - lovely condition overall. Caps are often dented or damaged beyond repair on old ones like these. And they normally bring $200 to $300 each. Measurements are noted directly on the photos. The largest is almost 4" long, the smaller one is 3" long.
