From my lifelong collections, earliest 1800s hand carved and likely German, this large armorial crest and unique tall pin-beads survive, a stunning bracelet. The crest hasn't a flaw, and is 2 1/2" tall to the feather plumes of the helmet, and is 2 1/3" wide across the arched center. The beads are strung together with the crest bracelet centerpiece with stretchy cording, replacing the very old original which appeared to be super-fragile old silk and was deteriorated in places. It can be worn, but my hope is that it is just displayed so it can survive another 200 or so years, at least. It does expand for wrist size. Full measurements noted on the photos.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, without any damage, loss, chips nor hairlines or cracks to the bracelet in full, but for a couple tips of the 1" tall 'beads' (see images). Strung with a stretchy cording, it was originally strung with a flexible silk which had long since deteriorated even 2 decades ago when I purchased it. Unique! One would expect to find it in the jewelry collection at the British Museum, London, where such amazing carved ivory jewelry can be found for research and enjoyment. RARE!

IMPORTANT NOTE regarding antique tortoise shell or ivory: We are great supporters of protection for endangered species in our modern world. We never buy or sell anything 100 years or newer; we donate to anti-poaching organizations; we don't hunt; we conserve in ways that impact global warming (we're totally solar at home), knowing those measures also protect the animals in the wild today. We also recognize the vast cultural history we preserve with our care and reverence for these antique objects, and agree with CITES that objects over 100 years of age have nothing whatsoever to do with species depletion in our current world.

Our offering exceeds the age limitation of "more than 100 years of age", and is well within the exemption for CITES regulation. If imported, met the CITES regulation. This item will be handled and shipped from our Utah business, and is not available for shipment internationally, nor within the USA to California, NY, Nevada, Hawaii, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington if it contains ivory, sorry. Please see our small print for more details.
