I do have a couple of spare 18th century spectacles which can be tucked into this case, even a set of dark glasses. The case it the treasure, though - in exceptionally fine condition, it is as close to original condition as any shagreen we've had. Of course, you know that shagreen (galuchat) is the leather made from the belly of the stingray, or sometimes shark (usually blackened). One would anticipate seeing it pulled from the vest of a Georgian gentleman in some period movie or series (yes, we do also sell to production companies for props). Photos show it well, Measurements are noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. We rarely find them in finer condition, without missing patches or wear, discoloration. The silver cartouche has not been engraved and awaits your own monogram. The silver mount is fine, too, with hinge and clasp working perfectly. A real treasure!
