From my private collections, this stunning little beauty of 200 years ago, French Empire to shortly afterward, it was made by "MULLOT l'aîné, Rue Saint-Denis No. 130" whose maker stamp still is in place on the inner lip of the original box. Interestingly, on the opposite side is a fan-shaped paper label from Duvelleroy. A consensus would suggest it might mean Duvelleroy either re-marketed the precious old fan, or perhaps re-ribboned it at some point, adding their own stamp. Box and fan are exemplary of fashion of the era, c.1810-25, a small brisé, jewel-like. I have just recently had it professionally re-ribboned. It is one you might use or display. The maker is Albert (l'Aîné) MULLOT, and his hand made fans are included in museum collections - a couple of close references for painted horn are included in our final photo (not included in sale).

Very good to excellent condition for age and type. No breaks, no repairs. The horn guards and sticks are quite transparent, which I've tried to show in our photos. The insets of rounds of silver, untested but they are silver metal) have a high eye-catching shimmer of light reflection, all the better with which to flirt. A superb large basket of flowers with raised gold paint and other decorative motifs present very well for age.
