Fabulous large antique Victorian era Black Forest hand carved solid oak 24" tall wall or parlor clock with ornate fruit & foliage carvings, reticulated or pierced vines, enamel numeral plaques and it works! Surprisingly heavy, this one weighs a hair under 12 lbs and is in solid old growth European oak. I found this one in Pasadena on my last trip up there (I somehow always find myself perusing the antique shops when I head up to and around Los Angeles). Hidden, tucked into a dealer's space corner and as dusty as can be but look at how beautiful once dusted off and with some wood oil. In wonderful condition, there are a few leaf or tendril tip nips but, as you can see, overall great! We normally find these with Japy Freres clock movements, I did remove the clock face to oil the mechanism and have included a photo of the maker mark but I've not found reference to it so far. The coil chime has been removed so it has no sound but it is running as I type. A lovely piece, don't miss it.
Very good condition. No warping to the clock face or outer, thick & heavy oak case. As noted, the coil chime is completely missing from inside but everything else is intact and working (though I've not monitored it for duration or accuracy). No chips or cracks to the enamel numeral plaques. See pictures for all measurements.
