Antique Carved Wood Black Forest Jewelry Chest, Box, Pair of Birds & Empty Nest
Fabulous antique Victorian to early Edwardian era Black Forest hand carved desk or jewelry casket, a marvelous box with lighter finish, foliate accents and two birds with nest figural top! That rare superb and near-pristine antique carved jewelry casket, a pair of game or "love birds" with nest up top in a graceful pose. This one has what appears to be the original silk satin interior, the original working lock and attending key in place. Such a beautiful box though...empty nest...are we making a statement here :) ?
Very good to excellent condition. Possibly a tiny nip or two to the wood but I see no larger chips, no damage or repairs. See pictures for all measurements.
