Superb 18k gold in heavy microns float or plated on .950/1000 pure French sterling silver, this lady's flask was created by French silversmith: Abit & Lopisgich c. 1898-1903, 171 rue du Temple, Paris. Not only brilliant in gold, engraved, the silver has been worked in repoussé, a bas relief which gives it dimension. Art Nouveau era and styling, this one likely has Baccarat flask. Note that on bottom of the flask remains a numbered paper label. I see nothing that would make me think this one was ever used, perhaps a precious gift. Full measurements noted on our photos.
Very good to excellent condition throughout. Appears to have never been used, and still retains a paper label on bottom of the glass body of the flask. These are sometimes mistaken for a perfume or scent bottle, but you see the base is actually a jigger cup. The flask holds approximately 4 oz, 2 shots, which would be a limit for a proper lady, as well. No chips, no hairlines, no cracks, no rubs or gold loss of significance on the sterling silver pieces, and no dents. We've found the silversmith, dates of 'inculpation' (working license) so we know it was made between in a 5-year period between 1898-1903, directly in the Art Nouveau period. This style does not have a stopper and never did. It has a thick corked inner lid, and it holds fluid tightly and without leak, still. One you can actually use. Isn't it gorgeous (and fun!).
