This one has survived so well. Just in from France, it is the hunt themed jewelry casket any gentleman or lady will love. The bas relief casting up top, a gutta percha plaque, is a forest hunt scene with 2 pheasants. Very beautifully done and very well preserved. Napoleon III era (Victorian), c.1850-70.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. The old original key still in the lock, and the original blue silk lining intact, if a bit used. No tatters. No chips, closes smoothly and locks tight. Measurements are noted on photos but it is 7.75" x 5" oval and 2.75" tall when closed.
