Tremendous work, not a single flaw to the oval convex copper plaque worked in deep cobalt, white and gold enamel, varying in thickness to provide the tonality. Neo-Renaissance figural plaque with mirroring griffin, Griffen, griffon, with the dragon tail, wings. Motifs that remind of Florence, and preserved without any chips or cracks to the kiln-fired enamel. The old frame is original, and we'd date it c.1840-50. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Excellent condition plaque, no flaws at all to note there. Held in place with a wood backing, I can point out the single flaw of hairline shrinkage crack horizontally at center of the old frame which has been restored/repaired.
