Antique figural stand for a dish or candle. I've been using this one for a candle at bedside for aa long time. It's one of the late 1800s to perhaps 1920 copies of the earlier cast metal figures we typically refer to as Blackamoor, but this one is a young boy. His backpack braces him to the post that creates the upper holder. The wires can be bent to fit a small dish if you'd like, but we have it set for a 2" diameter candle as you see it. Candle will be sent along with the figure. Overall, as it stands, 7 1/2" tall, and figure is approximately 5 1/2" tall on his one. So charming!
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. This is not the c.1850s one, I think. But it is also not a modern reproduction. Plenty of evidences of age. Bottom retains the old yet pretty worn velveted fabric liner. No breaks. No losses. Just a sweet little accent figure. Not bronze. He is that same cast metal, not pot metal, but a stronger alloy the French call white metal. Love the patina!
