Fabulous antique French Empire style 18k gold on sterling silver "vermeil" condiment or caviar serving dish with glass liner and gorgeous ram's head accents, laurel garland and immense visual appeal!  This is actually one of two matching pieces that we've just gotten in from France, both superb though with varying degrees of wear to the vermeil.  The always popular French Empire or Classical style, this one with scrolled pilasters, draped foliate or laurel garland and those fabulous ram head side accents or handles!  It bears the post-1878 French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within means it's in .950 silver under the gold plating (95% pure so higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver).  The silversmith mark for the world renowned Maison Puiforcat (EP for Emile Puiforcat).  Since their beginning in 1820 with a small cutlery shop, they grew to be known for the finest of finery. Puiforcat is one of only a handful of French silversmiths that have attained worldwide name recognition for their long lauded history and reputation for timeless patterns and unrivaled craftsmanship. Now owned by Hermes, also a name known for opulence. All of the elegance you could hope for!

Very good condition.  Possibly a tiny dimple or two but no dents, damage or repairs to note.  As you can see, there is some wear to the vermeil on raised areas.  Original glass liner with wheel cut and shaped rim, no chips or cracks.  See pictures for all measurements.
