What a beauty this one is! Gorgeous from every view, as you can see. Entirely hand carved, 19th century Swiss artisans, and likely someone's Grand Tour souvenir of that area. Stunning and fine from 3 sides, and the back side is slightly plain, so consider where you'll display it - a buffet top or bookshelf, perhaps? A pair of game birds up top and 4 superb sliding trays inside, you'll have fun presenting 36 cigars with a lift of the hinged top. The original lock works and the old original key is still there. A true tantalus. Not a humidor, there is not a soaking humidifier aspect. It is a server. Each of the 4 trays are in excellent condition and are 7.25" x 4.75", holding 9 cigars each in shaped recesses. The chest is 6.75" tall plus the carved birds up top which make it 10.5" tall, overall. Full measurements are noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. This one has almost no imperfections to report. One back leg/foot has a small chip. and there is a very old and very nicely done restoration on that taller game bird's neck (each marked on our photos for your review). Beautiful color, the old patina, and spectacular Animalier anatomical studies on those bars, so lifelike. No damage to legs or other aspects of the cabinet.
