From my own collections, a superb and pristine Napoleon era spare 18k gold French Palais Royal needle case, etui, salvaged from a full Palais Royal sewing box or necessaire which had lots of exterior damage. We have lots of such 'odds and ends' and will be working to get them listed. Shown on silk embroidery panels that are, as noted, not included. The color of the pearl shows much better against the color and we use them for that purpose. Only the mother of pearl thimble is for sale for you in this listing. Full measurements noted in mm on photos. Just realized my jewelry scale is not working, will replace and annotate this listing with total weight.
Excellent condition for age and type, very early 1800s to as late as 1830s, salvaged from a Palais Royal sewing necessaire that had exterior damage and loss. The needle case is pristine, hardly even a scrape from removing and replacing the cap. A nice larger one, 76mm in length. Beautiful and intricate floral patterning in a deep bas relief, acanthus crowns at both ends. No dents and no damage at all to report.
