Elegant antique French Napoleon III era sterling silver double open salt, condiment or sweetmeat caddy with ball feet, thick wheel cut rectangular blown glass or crystal wells and wonderful condition! The entire piece, base, feet, well fixtures and handles are in a wonderfully simple yet elegant style with just a hint of ornamentation represented in the sparkling and thick wheel cut wells, very attractive! The French Minerve or Minerva hallmark in several visible on base & handle (and included seashell accented spoon), the tiny number "1" within those marks designating .950 silver content (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for sterling silver). The silversmith marks are different on caddy and spoon so they're not original to each other but of similar age, surely Paris circa mid to late 1800s. The silversmith marks are legible but I've not been able to find reference to them as of yet. A beautiful older piece, don't miss it.
Very good to excellent condition. A tiny nip or two possible to the glass/crystal wells but no chips, cracks or other damage to note. The sterling silver base and handle are also in great shape with no dents, damage or repairs. See pictures for measurements.
