I'm certain I've seen this very mould over the decades yet can't at listing time find it again. It is an unsigned piece. Absolutely 19th century, mid-1800s if I were to guesstimate it based on the resurgence of Chinoise aesthetic in France, c.1850-70s (Napoleon III era) under the influence of Empress Eugenie.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. A superb piece, it hasn't any chips or loss, but a very tiny nip on inner rim of neck from a stopper-ding - very small, and then just a light wearing to the painting or gold from use, very typical of age and very light for this type article. Another tiny flaw: a nip to the front of the hat on the stopper figure (marked with an x). A somewhat wide neck, it might have been a tea caddy. But it seems a bit narrow, perhaps a carafon or personal sized decanter for table use for water, or a liqueur decanter. Expert collectors seem to indicate it is a large scent bottle.
