Lovely antique to vintage French hallmarked sterling silver 18oz teapot or coffee pot, solitaire or bachelor's sized with unique Art Deco styling and in wonderful condition! With no silversmith marks that I can find, there is no way for me to accurately narrow down dates of manufacture on this one but the Art Deco styling would but it in that period likely. The pot holds 18 fluid ounces so would be considered a tete-a-tete, solitaire or bachelor's. Nothing overly frilly but that was the purpose, simple ball finial, unique squared off spout though the carved ebony or ebonized walnut handle scrolled with a tendril for the thumb so it combines a few styles. In any event, both the lid and body bear the post-1838 French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within means it's entirely in .950 silver (95% pure so above the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). Quite a unique piece for us, and for French coffee pots.
Very good condition. Some tarnish visible in the images, sorry. Possibly a tiny dimple or two but, as you can see from the enlarged photos, there are no larger dents, no damage or repairs. See pictures for all measurements.
