A superb complete Victorian era jewelry set, Gothic Revival aesthetic, 16k gold earrings and 14k gold brooch with a covered locket back (mourning jewelry). Still in original presentation case which will, of course, stay with the set. A complete parure, very fine condition. A lift-out glass and gold locket cover-back is empty at present, would have been meant to hold a lock of someone's hair. Perhaps never used, or has been emptied. Could hold some memento, a photo, lock of hair you'll choose. Measurements are noted directly on our photos. I'm not a brooch or bodicer person, but love wearing these old sets with the brooch locked over a set of pearls or seed pearls, a gold chain, as a pendant/enhancer. Fine quality craftsmanship by this goldsmith, evidenced by crispness of design, and the closed backsides on earrings. There is an addition of a small bale on backside, ready for a gold link/loop so you can suspend a watch, a pearl, or to attach a bale. Versatile!
Very good to excellent condition throughout. Pierced earring wires have slightly enlarged tops to keep from slipping off without intention (you might want to also use a tiny silicone ball available about anywhere, to use like a earring back). Gold is yellow in color, slightly varied to accent the pieces, the oval cabochon-like form is a slightly different color gold, slightly to pink/rose as you can see in our photos. No dents, no loss, no damage.
