The clasp is a stunning and large Victorian beauty, act tests 12k gold and holds a huge amethyst which is beautifully cut and measures 24mm x 12mm in a bit of a pillow cut. This stunning clasp has a fine and new stringing with 9 strands of freshwater pearls taking the place of what would originally have been either seed pearls or amethyst beads. Professionally restrung and preserved thus, it's one you'll definitely enjoy wearing and can do so safely. The clasp insert holds tightly and it's oh, so pretty on the wrist. It actually measure a hair under 7", excluding the insert part of clasp, but I think you should plan on it not fitting a wrist larger than about 6 3/4". Wide and just stunning in wear! Very good to excellent condition for age and type, the very old 12k clasp is oversized and superb. Sturdy and without damage, dents or chips to the large amethyst setting. As you can see, the bracelet has been professionally restrung, bead balls are 14k gold, and rather than seed pearls or small amethyst beads which would have dated with the bracelet, it's restrung with colorful and beautifully matched freshwater pearls. All of those are in the 4-6mm range in size, very nice overall look.
